I woked up to find myself lying on my own bed, I was back in the royal palace. I must have dost of to sleep while trying to find my relaxation. My mouth was dry and my lung thirst for water. I walk through the corridor, down the stairs. The grandfather clock was ticking at 3.38 in the morning. To my surprise, the lights in the kitchen was still on. Few feet right outside the kitchen, I lay eyes on a dark shadow, a figure with long hair, most probably a lady, sitting on a wooden stool sobbing by her self. Who could it be, still awake up till this early dark morning? The figure was wearing a blue night gown, her hair was untied and the wind blowing through the window made her hair even more messier.
As i came closer to her, I saw a golden-silver ring on her hand. Only Mariean, one of the maid in the palace who serve only my mother, has that ring. She told me one day that it was once her grandmother's who passed it to her mother and now to her.
"Hello, miss are you alright?" I ask outloud with a little uncertainty if giving out my presents was the best thing to do at that moment.
"Oh Princess Eleanor... I'm sorry I didn't know anyone would be awake at this time..." a voice came from the lady as she swape droplets of tears off her face.
"Is that you Mariean?"
"Yes princess, its me, your humble Mariean... Oh i missed you soo much," Mariean answered with pale looking face.
"Why are you crying Mariean? Is anything wrong? Did something happen?" I ask curiously. She look at me with a saddest in her eyes. An envelope with the royal seal that carries the symbol of the royalties which my father's keeping, was laying on the table inf ront of her. Seeing that envelope, I suddenly remember, that Woodwerd had mentioned to me in the car that something was wrong with my mother.
"Mariean, where is my mother? Is she alright?" the words just suddenly came out shakily without even thinking of what I was saying.
"Ah, about that, you should take a seat first princess. This envelope here is for you miss, from the queen," she reply
"What happen to my mother?" I ask her...ordered her, demanded her to tell me.
"Princess, please read the letter in the envelope first, then I will take you to her," said Mariean calmly.
"Fine!!" I said angryly to Mariean knowing that I could not get anything out of old Mariean. I took the envelope from her, slowly breaking the seal wax. Took out a peice of parchment, to my great surprise, it was not just a letter that was sealed but there was a ring in there too. A silver ring with shining red rubies. I placed the ring next to me and begin to unfold the parchment. It was definately from my mother base on the style of writing she had always used since she was young. The writing on the parchment goes like this:
"Dear Eleanor, by the time you read this letter, I could already be dead and no longger could i help you with the problems that you will soon have to face. This ring that you see, it is known as Ebenezor. It will help you at the most curcial times so keep it with you always, keep it safe. Your brother has one with him too, and you must find him and the third ring. Do not let anyone know that you have any knowledge about this three rings. Keep friends that could be trusted close to you and your enemies closer. I love you my dear daughter."
